Could the delay of the CDC Kaiser Permanente study be related to the soon to be reality government healthcare system? As a sufferer I know how expensive treating Morgellons is likely going to be. Like Lyme Disease it will (or would if chronic Lyme were recognized) destroy the health care system. I believe their may actually be a cure for Morgellons but the cure is not a pharmaceutical which means it will not be looked at. Instead, the path, if undertaken by the medical care system today would be a lifetime of costly “symptom” management and the government healthcare system is going to be designed to eliminate such treatments.
The Cold Hand of Government – Comparative Effectiveness
Comparitive Effectiveness is coming with government healthcare. Take a moment to watch this one minute video of testimony before the Senate by a Health Policy Professor. Do you want guys like this who you know will have privileged access to medical care making decisions for you?
Notice he says
They’ll have to be encouraged to make the right decision both for themselves and for THE care …
and then he stops. I believe he does so because he realizes he is saying people need to be encouraged to make the right decision for not only themselves but for the healthcare system itself. Or rather, we must die rather than burden down the government health care system. There are two things to consider he says, and one of them is the SYSTEM and THEY decide what the right decision is, and the very thing they are worried about is the SYSTEM, not you. And like he says, hospice is one option, which I take to mean, go away and die for the betterment of everyone.
I could be wrong on this, but I wouldn’t be holding your breath on any results being published or any big announcements from the CDC Kaiser Permanente study. I believe government health care will solve the problem of Morgellons by rationing healthcare and making it so we cannot thread our way through what is going to be a monumental and heartless bureaucracy. Government health care will effectively solve the problem for them.
We Either Must Choose to Live Free or Succumb to Tyranny Willingly
I’m not saying with the image below that Republicans are great. Lord knows both parties are taking us to the same place, one party is just moving much faster than the other but in the end, unless one of the two parties changes direction, the final destination is the same. We need to decide and soon if we want to live in a country where bureaucrats tell us what treatment we can and cannot get. And yes, to a certain extent insurance companies do this even now, but we are free to switch, choose to pay on our own, and have other avenues. Soon, those choices too will be gone. Even now the FDA is going after Acetaminophen when only 200 die from overdose each year, but you see it’s a 2.6 Billion dollar revenue stream, if they take it off the market guess who benefits? The pharmaceutical companies of course. And it will be by prescription only. Meanwhile, how many hundreds of thousands die each year from pharmaceutical drug overdoses? Does this make sense to you?
Eventually, stores like Whole Foods won’t be able to sell vitamins, they’ll be prescription only as the trends are already going in other countries, what then?
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
– Abraham Lincoln
Health Care is not a right in this country, and the moment they make it so it will cease to be Health Care.
