People Get Ready

Most of you have probably never heard this song by my favorite singer of all time. The song is titled “People Get Ready”. In this song is woven the greatest, and possibly most misunderstood message of all time.

People get ready, there’s a train a’ coming
You don’t need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear those diesels humming
You don’t need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

If you are down and out right now maybe this can lift your spirit. Like the song says, you don’t need no ticket, you just thank the Lord. For the first thirty years of my life I thought salvation was by works (and thus was miserable) and it was not until my 30’s that it was revealed to me that salvation was by Grace (an unmerited favor by God). That’s why you “don’t need no ticket” there is no paying your way, the price has already been paid. Anyway, I always find this song moving and such a beautiful metaphor for Salvation.

  1. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
    Thanks

  2. That is indeed the greatest message of all time…

“In the beginning was the Word (Logos – the “life force”, the creator and sustainer of all things), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…All things were made through Him… In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it…

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1-4, 14)

  3. Amazing.

Mr CS thank you so much for this post of encouragement.
There is no source of power without the Lord our God.
Truly Mr CS ‘The change is coming’ we need to set our hearts
and energy underneath where that power source is.

If I hadn’t gotten this disease,I would not have known what to do to serve others.

We are assured that, when we are weak, God promises to be strong- be our strength: this is our power.
And also we can wish for perfection. Knowing that God sends boldness and then skill to those who will serve others with a pure heart, laying down their lives.

11Cor>For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in Him, yet by God’s power we will live with him to serve you.

Thank you for your obedience, true wisdom, and for tenaciously using the skill given to you to help everyone.
I am so truly honored to know you.

    Blessings,
    Pamela Mae
