I was listening to a talk radio show on the way home from work last night and the host mentioned a group called "Food for the Poor" that you could donate to that would really help Haiti. I was just alerted to this footage (video below) that was taken immediately after the earthquake in Haiti.
Immediately upon seeing this video I Googled them and called them up on the phone to make sure they were for real, indeed they are. When I called I was talking to a lady on the phone and she told me they had missions on the ground there and 5 were still missing from one area, one had been airlifted with spinal injuries. She said they sent 12 truckloads of supplies to Haiti yesterday and 40 truckloads were going today. I donated online, the link is below.
Food For The Poor, the largest international relief and development organization in the United States, does much more than feed millions of hungry poor in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian agency provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance, with more than 96 percent of all donations going directly to programs that help the poor.
