I know many of you have been waiting for this post and I’m glad to finally be able to put this down in writing. I know many have high hopes but remember our community has not been able to find a “one protocol fits all” solution for everybody. That being said, I do think focusing on ones terrain is the correct approach in dealing with Morgellons. Also, I have seen reports over on Mel’s HowICuredMorgellons site lately of others becoming symptom free so be sure to consider all of your options. There was just a post over there of two more people becoming symptom free.

I would encourage you not take my word for anything, do your own research. A lot of this information is a recap of other posts, but I feel it presents a true picture of they key supplements I used in my recovery. This probably wont seem like a major revelation because much of this you have heard before.

Sunlight and Exercise


Both of these have been very good for me. Of course you wouldn’t want to go out and get sunburned. I start off slow each year and gradually get a good color. I don’t lay out in a lawn chair and worship the sun mind you, it’s just that when I go outside and do yard work or go for a bike ride I wear shorts and no shirt when I can. If I can get an hour of direct sunlight a day I’m thrilled. Vitamin D we are learning is very important these days.

Also exercise, while I admit I hate doing it it’s a must to get your blood flowing, oxygen moving, and in general doing what your body was designed to do. Even a 20 minute walk a day is enough. So, if I go for a walk and when I am wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt I am accomplishing these two very important elements at the same time. Not only that, but these two activities really contribute to a healthier mental state.

I also drink a large glass of Tropicana Orange Juice each day to make sure I have an ample supply of Potassium, I think this have been very important in my recovery, simple, but effective.

My Breakthrough Concerning Anxiety and Inflammation

PMPII_fishoilYou might be thinking what does Anxiety have to do with Morgellons? Well, for me, it was one of the worse aspects and I think anxiety can cause a tremendous amount of damage to the body. Since the onset of Morgellons I experienced terrible anxiety. It was so bad I suffered from panic attacks and my muscles were so tense in my neck, jaw, and back, everything would hurt. I would catch myself so tense that my body was just absolutely rigid. Waves of impending doom would come over me that were so terrible I would have to leave work. I even ended up in the ER a few times sure it was a stoke or heart attack.

To my great relief this is all ending now. My doctor had prescribed me Xanax 1mg Extended Release to deal with it, and while I think it helped it possessed no real power to control the anxiety and intense stress that I was experiencing.

I always felt that my anxiety was some form of imbalance or deficiency and not psychological in nature. It turns out I was right. I started taking the xtend-life Fish Oil which has an amazing 280mg of DHA in a single 1000mg fish oil capsule. It’s tested for heavy metals and traceable from the fishermen to the production process. It turns out fish oil helps many who suffer from anxiety. However, the benefits for the heart are also well known and probably more importantly is it’s ability to control inflammation which I think is rampant throughout the body of a Morgellons sufferer. So, I have changed from the Spectrum fish oil listed in my original PMP. The Spectrum contains only 240mg of DHA in 2 1000mg of fish oil capsules. Now I get more DHA in single capsule taking xtend-life’s brand.

Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) is the primary structural component of brain tissue. There are three forms of Omega 3 fatty acids, these include: alpha linolenic acid (LNA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid. Essential fatty acids are separated into two large categories, the Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid are composed of several chains of metabolic events in the body that help prevent disease, transport and uptake of oxygen, maintain cardiovascular health, balance hormone levels, maintain brain and immune system function.

Our diet in the Western world contains too much Omega 6 fatty acid and not enough Omega 3 fatty acid. Great food sources for Omega 3 fatty acids include: flaxseed oil, canola oil, soybeans, walnuts, wheat germ, pumpkin seed, eggs and most importantly cold water fish. The retina of the eye is mostly composed of Docosahexaenoic acid. The more you supply your body with these nutritious fats the better the eye and other organs can function.

Lipids and essential fatty acids are exceptionally important, serving essential, and indeed imperative roles throughout the body’s biochemistry for our health and welfare. Lipids are the primary structural components of all cell walls and membranes of the body, composing some 50% of the dry weight of the brain, and 5-10% of all other cells. And, most cells continually degrade and replace these membrane lipids, so there is a continuous demand for them. Other Lipids and essential fatty acids allow brain and neural function, maintenance and growth, interference of which leads to major neurological disorders, enzyme deficiencies and skin disorders of all types. Most of all Lipids and Fatty Acids are necessary for Cardiovascular (eg. cardiolipin), Neurological and Dermatological Health (eg. linoleic and linolenic acids).

In my unscientific opinion my brain was lacking in DHA because once I started taking the extend-life fish oil with 280mg of DHA my anxiety all but disappeared, and honestly, there was a time when I thought the anxiety alone might claim my life. I think this fish oil’s ability to control inflammation is very powerful.

My next refill of Xanax will be at half dose from what I take now, then I will go totally off it. However, I will stay on the extend-life fish oil for life. I take one a day with my lunch, sometimes I take two a day, one with lunch and then one with dinner.

Coconut Oil and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)

Living Foods™ Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 100% Organic

Every morning I take a little less than a teaspoon of this Coconut Oil in my morning oatmeal. This melts the coconut oil nicely and I stir it all through the oatmeal. I would encourage you to Google the antifungal/antibacterial benefits of Coconut Oil. Here is a good LINK but of course you cannot believe everything from a site that is promoting a product, however, I found this to be extremely beneficial for me. It also aids greatly in mineral absorption. I was able to pick up this brand at my local Whole Foods store.

Now, I must say I am greatly concerned that the NanoTransformation site has been suspended. I think they were really onto what is behind Morgellons. I will be writing to them personally as I was just alerted to their site being taken down. I learned about the benefits of Coconut Oil from them. PMPII_MSM

I purchased OptiMSM in 1000mg capsules filled with pure MSM flake. It came in quite a container, I call it Jug-O-MSM. The reason I am listing the coconut oil and MSM together is that I started taking them at the same time. Initially I ramped up to quickly on the MSM and had quite a Herxheimer reaction. In fact, I went from basically no crawling sensations to massive body wide crawling when I ramped up to 6 grams a day. I felt like crap, had to back down on the dosage. My feeling is it definitely did something, perhaps a massive kill off of the “bad guys”. All I know is that for me it worked.

Don’t confuse MSM with MMS. MSM is a sulfur based compound and you know my thoughts on sulfur based things being very effective in fighting Morgellons. Also, if it’s of any note, Mel from HowICuredMorgellons used Bactrim, and Bactrim is a sulfa drug (but many can be allergic to Bactrim).

According to my reading MSM is extremely safe and as about as toxic as water, but still I don’t take large quantities. The folks over at NanoTransformation.com swear by Coconut Oil and MSM, in my case anyway, I definitely concur. My skin cleared up dramatically upon taking these two and my crawling, though only slight by this time entirely stopped. I usually take one MSM with my oatmeal and another at supper time. CALM Magnesium – Still Core to My Recovery

I have found CALM magnesium to be fundamental in my getting better. I had all kind of muscle weakness, pains, twitching, heart palpitations. However, and most importantly, Magnesium balances and keeps my PH at a good level in my body. If your acidic, my advice is to try magnesium rather than some artificial PH buffers.

I take two teaspoons full a day, one in the morning, one for lunch or with supper. You dissolve it in hot water and drink it like a tea, you can take it with your food and it helps absorb your other vitamins. They have different flavors, I just do the natural, the less stuff added the better in my opinion. They also make a children’s version of this. I do not take the Magnesium with Calcium they offer, I prefer just the pure magnesium.

Like the extend-life fish oil, I will take this for life. I have found the benefits of Magnesium to be critical for me. I also buy this at Whole Foods.

WARNING:  If you are currently experiencing any type of kidney condition or disease, do not use magnesium supplements without the full knowledge and approval of your physician. Magnesium is necessary for life and can protect the kidney from disease but if kidney damage has already occurred magnesium supplementation could be harmful, even life threatening.

Let’s talk Amino Acids

There something funny about taking Amino Acid’s. They always tell you to take them on an empty stomach but normally you get them from eating red meat, which you usually have with a full meal, so go figure? I have settled on four Amino Acids, they are as follows:

  • N-Acetyl-l-Cystiene (NAC) always taken with Vitamin C
  • L-Carnitine
  • L-Glutamine
  • Whole Foods Essential Amino’s

N-Acetyl-l-Cystiene (NAC)

I really encourage you to do some research on NAC and detoxing, Glutathione, and NAC and the flu, I read a medical article stating if your taking NAC during the flu season its very hard to come down with the flu. NAC is a natural sulfur-containing amino acid derivative

I take this on an empty stomach with 2,000 MG of Vitamin C with bioflavanoids. I believe this has been one of the pillars of my recovery.

Warning: They say 1% of kidney stones are made of Cysteine and the ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) will keep them from forming. I don’t worry about it, it’s very rare and I need the extra Vitamin C so this works out well.


I buy the Whole Foods brand, 250mg and take one a day most of the time, sometimes two. L-Carnitine is a nutrient that helps the body turn fat into energy. It is produced by the body in the liver and kidneys and stored in the skeletal muscles, heart, and brain. I eat almost no meat, only chicken now and then and sometimes fish, and you get most of your Carnitine from Beef, so I supplement here. L-Glutamine is supposed to be very good for the digestional tract.


Deficiencies cause increased permeability of the intestines to allergens and toxins inflammation of the intestines, food allergies, inflammatory arthritis (joint inflammation), fatigue, skin rashes, impaired immune function, poor wound healing and slow recovery from illness. Glutamine deficiency may result in diarrhea, villous atrophy, mucosal ulceration, increased intestinal permeability, and intestinal necrosis.

I have done a lot of reading on this and because I think the health of my stomach is critical I take Jarrows 750mg USP Grade L-Glutamine.

Warning: Anyone with cirrhosis of the liver, kidney conditions, Reye’s syndrome, or any type of disorder that can result in an accumulation of ammonia in the blood are advised to avoid supplemental glutamine. I have read that some people that don’t get along with MSG can sometimes have problems with L-Glutamine.

Whole Food “Amino Essentials”

This is one of my favorite supplements. Because I eat so little meat and feel that amino’s play such an important role in our health I take this low dose complex. I purchase this at whole foods. This has a range of 24mg to 64mg of each of the amino acids.

Now, I don’t take all of these ever day I kind of rotate them. I do tend to take at least on essential every day, but some days I take the l-Glutamine other the L-Carnitine and so on …

Coenzyme Q10

Country Life’s Maxi-Sorb™ CoQ10 is hydrosoluble and employs the patent pending BioSolv™ delivery system. This delivery system enhances absorption 300% over that found with CoQ10 tablets, hard shell capsules, or other softgels tested.

Also contains 20% of your Vitamin E.

I take one gel capsule a day with a meal.



Iodoral Iodine/Potassium Iodide


I decided to take this because for years I literally ate no table salt whatsoever. With all the news about salt being evil I literally never used it and that’s about the only place we get Iodine, and even the salt doesn’t have the recommended amounts anymore. My wife cooks everything from real foods, we eat very little processed food so my salt intake is very low.

Many of my symptoms seemed to mimic thyroid issues so I decided to find a reputable form of Iodine. I purchased the 12.5mg dose of Iodoral. I have never even taken an entire pill in a day. In fact, I take a tablet put it between two spoons and crush it lightly into small chunks and put it in a zip lock bag and take it over a period of four of five days. The tablets are scored so I can break them in half easily. The most I have taken is one half a tablet in one day.

I’m very cautious with Iodine but decided I need to take it.

Solgar B-Complex “50”


I like this Vitamin B because it’s not a mega dose. Most Vitamin B’s you find today are like 10,000% of the RDA, I think that is a bit much. The label for this one is shown below.

For Vitamin B12 I prefer Methylcobalamin to Cobalamin and this type contains the Cobalamin. I have a Jarrows form of B12 only that is pure Methylcobalamin that I take from time to time.

Basically, I needed a Vitamin B mix and this is what I have settled on mainly because it’s lower dose than many of the other brands I could find. I also get this at Whole Foods.


True Protein


Finally, I guess I should throw in my True Protein which is loaded with Amino Acids and provides for a very high level of protein. For more information see this post on True Protein (click here)



A Good Probiotic

I’m not really going to list a particular brand here. I just believe having a good probiotic was important to repairing my gut by providing good flora. The one take has a 12 billion count.

Sulfur Soap in the Shower

10% Sulfur Soap

Grisi Soap Sulfur/ Azufre – Recommended as an aid in the treatment of pimples and blackheads; reduces oil on the skin. Sulfur soap with Lanolin is an excellent aid in reducing excess dryness and skin scaling.

I use this everyday in the shower for months and months. Sulfur is a well known treatment for killing arthropods of all kinds.

You can buy this soap at various Walmart stores. Not all of them carry it. If you click on this LINK there is a place that you can type in your zip code and find a store near you that carries it.

WARNING: Test this a day or two on a small part of your body before using it on your entire body. I even washed my hair with it. You can find it for cheap, as low as .95 cents to $1.25 a bar.

Dr. Bonners Peppermint Soap for Laundry

I use this on every load of laundry, never use this on your skin, it’s to strong, this is only to be used in your laundry. I give a pretty good squirt of this into each load of laundry. Mint/Peppermint is a well known arthropod (mites and other type creatures) killer just as is the sulfur soap above I use in the shower

You can pick this up at Whole Food Stores, GNC Nutrition Stores, or purchase it online.

I really think when used everyday this is very effective. Again I would like to emphasis I still live out of a single laundry basket (ya, only a man can get away with that) but this ensure my clothes do not mix with untreated clothes and that they are washed often.



Like I said in an earlier post, I was in pretty good shape but once I added the Coconut Oil and MSM that seemed to snuff out whatever was hanging on. However, I still had crushing anxiety, but finally, the xtend-life Fish Oil eliminated it (I was so shocked honestly). I can tell you getting rid of the anxiety has been the biggest relief in my life. I think the anxiety caused a lot of damage to my body but it’s healing. I think I actually look much younger than I really am (but then who doesn’t). Some of my protocol intentionally targets my heart as Morgellons seemed to effect me there in a big way, probably by way of inflammation.

I take at least 2000mg of Vitamin C with bioflavonoids a day with my NAC, and then sometimes more. I also often take a Zinc and a Selenium tablet but not every day. Like I said before, we don’t eat processed foods. Today my wife made asparagus soup, it was delicious and very healthy, and asparagus is chock full of vitamins.

What you might notice right away is that there is no multi-vitamin listed here. Like many of you I have an entire cabinet full of supplements and I take various things at various times based on more of a gut feel than anything else. For instance, I might take grape seed extract (not GSE though I have taken GSE as well) or oregano oil depending on how I feel. I often take a 2000IU Vitamin D with lunch time. Basically, I prepare a little zip lock bag each morning with my supplements in it. But it’s not really all that much these days. I pretty much stick with the core items listed above. I take less stuff now than I ever have.

I also still take many of the Logos Nutritional Products such as the Thymic formula and I often bring a Logos Nutritionals MagnifiCal capsule and take that with lunch. Many of the people on HowICuredMorgellons are having great luck with the Logos Nutritional products and I know they have helped me as well. I think I sat down and spoke with John of Logos Nutritionals he would point out most of what I am taking is in his Wellness Protocol, even the Iodine is. The Wellness protocol also includes HCL (hydrochloric acid) which aides in digestion.

I also know that Trisha Springstead has created a new soap with 10% sulfur in it so new options are showing up every day.

Don’t let all this confuse you, remember, “Do No Harm”. Less is more …

There is a bible verse that goes like this “Resist the Devil and he will flee from you …” I believe you can translate this into health, “Restore your terrain and disease will flee from you”.

So many ailments and issues I had pre-Morgellons are now also gone. I didn’t target any specific germ, bug, or fungi. Instead I went about providing my body with the resources it needs to do what it does best, keep me alive and healthy.

I hope this post wasn’t too much of a let down as there are no real big revelations here.

I saw on that site that site that she will have a membership site up soon. Perhaps the NanoTrans people are planning to work with her on that site?

      I use it alone. In fact, I read a pretty decent article once on the enzymes used in traditional detergents (of course they are unnamed) but a guy actually made a decent case for these enzymes being the cause of Morgellons. Of course, there are a million theories …

    Thanks for all the good info. I have been dealing with this for a little more than a year. I thought I was on the way to recovery, than in the middle of July I had a bad re-infection. Because I was feeling better I think I slacked on my protocol. My protocol is very close to what you have suggested. The extra virgin coconut oil was on of the best thing I started taking. I use it one all my veggies and meats. It definitely helped with the brain fog. The Dr. Bonners soap can be used in your bath, it has instructions (tiny print) on the side of the bottle, you only need a few drops in the sink or tub. It feels great but it never calmed down the itching of morgellons. I do use it in the laundry daily with 20 Mule Borax. Kleen Green from naturalginesis.com this helped with the crawling sensation. I use it around the house daily. You can spray that on everything the furniture, yourself even the dog (my dog had a lot of skin issues and is doing better now). You mentioned Trisha Springstead’s sulfur soap at espbotanicals.com I do use that daily. It calms down the itching and stinging sensation, it does not smell bad like a lot of sulfur products and it is moisturizing, she also has a toner spray that helps when I am outside. The msm was one of the first things I used. Since finding your site I have added a lot of the amino acids. I have not tried the iodine yet but that is next on the list. Many of my symptoms mimic thyroid issues also. I noticed when I had my re-infection in July that my urine ph level dropped to 5 and I usually keep it at 7.5 to 8.5. The ph level definitely effects my symptoms and recovery. Exercise and sunshine are a must. You are correct there is not a “one protocol fits all” and as our own body heals we need to readjust to its needs.

    Hello, it seems like my symptoms are more of internal but I am having abnormal sores and pinprick bites on skin but no pain. I have chronic bloating and lost my appetite and of course I have fibers..mainly white and they either come from my fingers or sit on top of my skin, abnormal discharge comes from my eyes…and I know it is not a typical virus and bacterial infection…and I have floaters. Any ideas I can do for my body internally. I took a VCS test online at http://www.chronicneurotoxins.com and they suggest that I had an exposure to mold. I am very confused…I started noticing these things after a traumatic experience.

    Thanks for creating this wonderfully supportive and informative resource.

    I was an M sufferer from 2004. I remember the day it started. I had given someone a massage (in Worthing, UK) and they had told me how they had just renovated their house. When they had moved in there was a family with all sorts of medical problems who had moved out! After that I noticed a crawling sensation all over my chest that wouldn’t go away. For a couple of years i covered myself in tea tree oil and had lots of baths which seemed to soothe but never got rid of the itching which went to the head feet groin and wrists.

    It was after a while I noticed the small white threads that you could almost mistake for bits of lint under your fingernails, but after a while I noticed that they were kind of just emerging form my skin. That was pretty scary! Over time I noticed small egg like things on the hairs of my wrist, as well as the hair forking at the end and the hairs (on my head as well) suddenly growing at 90 degrees. I had the test for Lyme disease but was neg. Some of the fibres seemed to be sticky and looked as if they were moving and some of them appeared to be just plain fibres, like cellulose/cotton or something.

    I often times noticed the fibres appearing on clothes and furniture around the house. Sometimes it was embedded in the fabric, and of the same colour as the fabric, suggesting that it had maybe been something that was living in the clothing that had dug its way in and started making this material. I’m still not sure which.

    Anyway, after a few years of this nightmare and looking for solutions, with fibres coming off me all the time (when I sat on a bus or train I would just see them coming off my hair and skin) I came down with a severe kind of bronchitis that I thought may have been caused by inhaling the fibres. I also had a lot of pain in my me heart area. I wondered if this could be fibres blocking up the arteries (though by that point I still hadn’t heard of Morgellons).

    I started noticing little silver and iridescent bits coming out of my skin when i rubbed my face (much like the glitter that you get in girls make up – though I don’t wear make-up). At this point I thought I was probably going to die of a heart attack. I felt so weak, all I could do was to lay on my bed and sit upright and hope that I woke up the next morning. A bit of a sorry state of affairs.

    It was then that I discovered that colloidal silver could be used to clear up bronchial problems, so I began taking it. Miraculously I slowly felt better and better, and after 6 weeks I only had a tickle of a cough and the heart pains had subsided (the dr had found no problems with my heart when he listened, even though it felt bad on my end). I also noticed that the fibres stopped appearing. A few months afterwards I also found that some friends who had been in my vicinity had also suffered bronchial problems (and all ended up being ok but had had to take time out to recover). I’m not sure if the bronchitis was related to the fibres or not, but it made sense that there could be a connection.

    So apart form a huge pustule that I got shortly after stopping taking the silver that was like a big insect bite (which I can still feel the scar of) and took months to get better, the symptoms pretty much subsided.

    Then, a couple of weeks ago I started up an old laptop that I needed to use because my current one had stopped working. I noticed lots of dust coming out of the loud fan on it, and it made me cough. Within a couple of days I started seeing these weird fibres again (the white ones). After a week I started noticing the strands coming off me in my lectures and at my work place, and my hair changing to that funny hair that you get (some look weak fibres and others turn white/silver or black and thick). I even had a silver kind of hexagon shape come out of my forehead.

    Observing the pattern of small sores that have emerged (about 5 small red inflammations like pimples in different parts) I have seen the white fibres and sometimes the ball of fuzz come out form areas within about 5cm of the spots, as if the spots are where the ‘stuff’ is growing. I also noticed that when I had something with sugar in, it was like someone was spindling the fibre out of those areas, but when i didn’t eat or ate protein and veg it seems to calm down alot. it’s almost as if whatever it is is making cellulose out of the sugar I’m eating!

    Anyway, I am back on the colloidal silver and have ordered a job lot of your recommended supplements from John to help remake the basal alkaline base of my body. Also I might add the last two years I have had what felt like a liver inflammation but which the dr is currently testing for liver fluke (as all other liver signs/hep etc were clear). This may be unrelated, or it could be something to do with a dormant phase?? Im not sure, but the silver didn’t seem to help it, and I was a little worried it might be silver building up in my liver or something so I had stopped taking it the last two years.

    So that brings me to now. And I have been surfing the internet and finding lots of thigns that seemed to have helped various people. One blog I saw is here:


    and it says the use of hydrogen peroxide, borax and bicarb is the best cure, as well as talking about other alternative cures to this unnamed illness.

    Does anyone have any info on the h202/Borax/Bicarb thing?? Has anyone tried it? I’ve just ordered the ingredients but am a bit hesitant to try something more that could harm things!! (I tried diatomaceous earth a couple of years ago just after taking the silver and i got stomach pains and a big bruise and swelling around the right of the belly button, which went over a few weeks, but the slight bulge is still on one side, so that’s why I’m wary of drinking something that might put me into worse straits!) If anyone has any suggestions, please reply! Sorry it took so long to write.


    • Hi Tony, I got morgellons in fla. also, and they do spray there. I have been putting the bicarb., a little sprinkle, in my drinks. Plus, I use the hydrogen peroxide on my skin. I use borax in the bath. This thing is so horrendous that I WOULD drink them in small amounts. I am just getting the idea to do that now. I also use the silver…Along with the mosquito spraying, google: fire ant nest and flies. They are putting itty bitty flies in our environment to lay eggs in the fire ants.       I thought I was loosin it I have had on several occasions the perfect circular silver things come out of my hair and head .a few have even been just a white color with no silver. I keep. Seeing little gnats flying out too when I brush my hair along with sime very thin fibers that are white black or red.the black one are very strong and feel kind of like wire.and they can move.the movement of them are very weird sort of like a snake.and some have even came with perfectly circular knots..regualar hair doesn’t knot like that.I had no symptoms for 3 months and now it came back with the itching and parasites again.anyone know what these silver circular things are at all
