Unraveling the Myth that “Green” is “Clean”

This has been on my mind for some time now. I do believe that toxicity is a big part of what is making Americans, and indeed people worldwide sick. For now, let’s talk about how the environmental movement is quickly turning into the largest polluter, and indeed, the most irresponsible industry in America. Not only is Green Energy unsustainable (it cannot make a profit without being propped up with “billons” of tax dollars) but it relies on horribly toxic heavy metals.

Mercury “dust” filled Light Bulbs

Consider for instance these new Mercury light bulbs. What are people doing with them when they burn out? Before I answer that question let me just say that I can speak from experience here. These new bulbs don’t last longer, but shorter than incandescent bulbs, at least that has been my experience. I hate them. I have to replace them quite often so I asked my wife to call the county’s recycling center as they have a place where you can return them. But the guy on the phone told my wife, just throw them in the trash, they have so little mercury in them it won’t matter. Now, let’s consider that course of action. The garbage truck comes, picks up our trash, smashes the 2 or 3 light bulbs from our garbage and the mercury dust is set free to float in the air. Of course, there’s no telling how many other people threw out there bulbs, then consider this being done nationwide every single day. This mercury is a fine powder, and this is its most dangerous form. No doubt our streets will end up with mercury dust all over them on trash day, and it’s only going to get far worse, my guess is they already are covered in the “dust”.

Next the wind comes and blows this dust into air to be inhaled by our children and by us as well. When it rains it gets washed into the streams and continues to poison the entire ecosystem. All of this in the name of environmentalism. We are staring down the barrel of a massive unleashing of mercury dust across America. You don’t even want to read the instructions for what to do if you break one of these mercury bulbs in your home. Are you prepared to have your carpeting removed? Well, you just might need to.

Why would environmentalist insist on putting Mercury “dust” inside a very thin glass bulb and then forcing Americans to have 20 or 30 of these in each home? Let’s assume that every home in America has 2 or 3 burning out each year. There are 125+ million homes in America, so let’s multiply that by three. We will be throwing out 375,000,0000 (375 million) light bulbs containing mercury dust. Most of these will be crushed when your garbage truck goes through its compaction process (in your neighborhood) to make room for more garbage. America will soon be breathing this mercury dust non stop, if we aren’t already.

These kinds of environmentalists and their initiatives I can live without.

Solyndra Not Dealing With Toxic Waste At Milpitas Facility – Solar Power

Remember the massive swindling of cash that went on at Solyndra? What were they making again? Oh yes, that’s right, Solar Panels. Now the bankrupt solar firm, once touted as a symbol of green technology, may be trying to abandon toxic waste. The next phase of the company’s liquidation is under way. It involves getting rid of all the heavy metals left inside the building that were used to make the panels. Wait, did I hear that right, Solar Panels are manufactured using heavy metals? Most of them very toxic such as cadmium? Isn’t that what environmentalists claim is wrong with other forms of energy?

These heavy metals don’t degrade at all, so we want to make sure we don’t allow these materials to get into the environment,” he said.

It’s not just the leftover hazardous materials, but also the machinery used to apply them to the glass tubes. “Certainly those tools will need to be decontaminated, cleaned up, handled correctly as they are taken apart,” he said.

CBS 5 found the building locked up, with no one around. At the back, a hazardous storage area was found. There were discarded buckets half filled with liquids and barrels labeled “hazardous waste.”

The building’s owner, a company called iStar, claimed in court documents, “there may be serious environmental, health and safety issues” at the premises. According to the documents, they include, “numerous containers of solvents and chemicals…and processing equipment contaminated with lead.”

Well, I’ll be. Solyndra, the great mother Gaia savior has left a toxic mess behind. Imagine that, environmentalists doing the very same thing they accuse everyone else of doing. And lead? You mean lead, cadmium, and other very toxic heavy metals go into making solar panels?

Finally, what then was to be done with spent and broken solar panels? Have they been disposed of properly at toxic recycling places? You can bet that answer is “No” nor is there a plan handle them.

Giant Wind Farms

Surely harnessing the wind is harmless right? Well, it turns out that it is not, it’s coming with a high price. There is much debate on how many bats and birds windmills are killing but there is no doubt that they are killing them. In fact, they kill bats without even making contact with them. In my state, the wind mills will probably end up being responsible for the extinction of three species on the endangered list. If you want to know more on this subject just Google it. The environmentalists have many “debunking sites” trying to say that wind mills don’t kill them, but the facts say otherwise.

However, let’s look at the latest news.

Wind Mills are causing the earth to warm, and this is proven via satellite studies.

This is a lovely story from the UK press today based on a paper that has just appeared in Nature. Wind farms cause global warming! And yes, it really is true, this is not some joke nor strange denialist “science”.

Wind farms can cause climate change, according to new research, that shows for the first time the new technology is already pushing up temperatures.

So says the Telegraph. The Guardian gives us:

Large wind farms can increase local night time temperatures by fanning warmer air onto the ground, new research has revealed. The study used satellite data to show that the building of huge wind farms in west Texas over the last decade has warmed the nights by up to 0.72C.

The basic effect is that given that the ground at night is generally cooler than the atmosphere, thus the air near the ground is cooler than the air higher up. Turning blades of the turbines mix up this air, cool with warmer, and thus lower the temperature of the higher up air.

The effect is quite large too, that 0.72 of a degree is not far off the 0.8 of a degree which is said to be the total amount of anthropogenic global warming so far!!

Summary

Beware the “Green” dream. It is laden with flawed science and based on flawed conclusions. It’s propped up with billions of tax dollars which could be far better used. And the “Green” industry is built on toxic heavy metals just like, if not more than, other non-green industries. Don’t even get me started on battery power, you can’t imagine the toxicity of the batteries they are trying to power cars with.

For me, I’ll take oil and coal any day. Oil is natural substance and there is more seepage into the ocean naturally every year than the BP oil spill contributed, in fact, you cannot even compare the spill versus natural seepage of oil into the ocean. Accidents happen, they will always happen. Our mistake was trying to clean it up with Corexit. I watched an interesting story on John Stossel showing that they had a contest and a company was able to cleanup oil 20 times more effective than the EPA, but the EPA didn’t do a thing to help but use Corexit.

Mercury Associations in DOP Accounts

By Joseph Keleher

I noted likely connections to mercury while reviewing some early DOP (delusion of parasitosis) accounts. While it is difficult to draw a direct line between mercury exposure and the symptom set once referred to as DOP, enough probable connections exist to merit a review by a qualified medical researcher (or researchers). Patient exposure falls into use of mercury as a medicinal for treating syphilis and use of cosmetics containing mercury. Each is briefly discussed below.  As mercurial skin creams are still in use in some parts of the world, some relevant cases are presented.

Syphilis

Mercury was used to treat syphilis over a span of 450 years until the introduction of penicillin in 1943 (Tilles and Wallach 1996: 501- 10). Several cases documenting DOP in Wilson and Miller (1946) make mention of syphilis. Case 38, “…had syphilis at the age of 40 and received standard treatment for two years” (Wilson and Miller 1946: 51). Case 41 “…had syphilis at the age of 36 and had five years of treatment” (Wilson and Miller 1946: 52). While mercury as treatment in Case 38 and 41 is not stated, it is likely it was used. Case 46 does document mercury playing a role as, “a ship’s captain (who) complained of itching and creeping sensations which involved the face severely, but all parts of the body had been affected at times. The disorder had begun twenty years previously with a crawling sensation about the genitals and perineal region. He believed pubic lice to be present at the time but could never find them. He tried strong mercurial ointment, and within a day or so this medication had ‘driven them all over the body’” (Wilson and Miller 1946: 52).

There also appears to be some connection between patients suffering from a condition called syphilophobia and DOP. “Syphilophobia is a psychiatric symptom which may accompany or precede all stages of mental illness, and is analogous in all features to the delusion of parasitosis” (Macalpine 1957: 99). For unclear reasons, Wilson (1952) categorizes DOP with syphilophobia. Self-treatment with mercurial ointment is a possibility.

Cosmetics

Some early cosmetics had mercury as a key ingredient. A dated source itself states,  “Despite the fact that topical mercury preparations were condemned as both useless and dangerous almost twenty years ago, these creams are apparently still available” (Oliveira et. al. 1987: 304). For unknown reasons, mercurial skin creams are still widely in use throughout Africa, SE Asia, many Arabic speaking countries, and Mexico (see related research under search of “mercury skin cream” on Pubmed.gov).

Cases 5 and 6 presented by Wilson and Miller in addition to having DOP symptoms had vitigo (irregular pigmentation likely treated with mercurial, skin-whitening cream) (1946:47). Documented commonalities between cases states, “’bugs’ may come out of such common household items as toothpaste, petroleum jelly, or cosmetics” (Schrut and Waldron 1963: 429). Also noteworthy is, “The typical patient with delusion of parasitosis is a woman over 40 (the condition is three times as common in women)” (Br. Med. J. 1977: 790); this pattern could relate to prolonged use of cosmetics.

In a large scale study of dermal effects of skin whitening creams, “of the 368 women questioned…main skin complaints included dermatophyte infections (n= 105) and scabies (n= 69)” (Mahe’ et. al. 2003). Another study of a condition found in Nigerian patients called “Ode Ori” is described as, “crawling sensations in the head and body, noises in the ears, palpitations and various other somatic complaints” (Makanjuola 1987). Similarly, Ebigbo presents “heat in the body and head; crawling, heavy and biting sensations” found in Nigeria (Ebigbo 1993:396- 401).

Mercurial skin creams are still in use in Mexico (also in US border states. See CDC study  “Update: Mercury Poisoning Associated with Beauty Cream – AZ, CA, NM and Texas” 1996). The US distribution map of Morgellons Disease (which is widely accepted by the medical community as the same as DOP) on Morgellons.org shows higher concentrations in US/ Mexico Border States.

Discussion- I am not a qualified medical researcher nor am I objective in presenting such information as connections between mercury and DOP symptoms (see documentation of my recovery from related symptoms in “Hell and Back Again” Keleher 2008). None the less, I cannot help seeing connections and possible connections throughout the medical research on the symptoms set labeled DOP (and other times Morgellons Disease) and mercury. Certainly, some of the connections in this paper as well as an earlier paper (see Keleher 2008) are speculative. My background as a researcher is in the admittedly soft science of archaeology. My hope in presenting this and other information is that a qualified medical professional (or professionals) will further the investigation.

Another Theory for Sufferers to Consider

Crawling Sensations, Fibers and Other Noted Morgellons Syndrome Symptoms: Another Theory for Sufferers to Consider

by Joseph Keleher

I am not a medical professional. Let me repeat that. I am not, never have been and have no desire to ever become a medical professional. I might best be labeled a reluctant participant, as I suffered from Morgellons Syndrome Symptoms.

I have done my best to document what I went through (see Keleher 2008 “Hell and Back Again”). I wrote about connections to mercury and these horrific symptoms. I’ve angered medical professionals and sufferers. I’ve lost some old friends. I’ve found some new friends. I’ve written, emailed, and spoke on the phone with others who suffer. I’ve cried a bunch and still do (I don’t exactly know why).

I know it is possible to get well. I know what I suffered from and what I think most are suffering from is mercury as a neurotoxin. It is treatable with chelation and changes in lifestyle.

What I share are my thoughts. Yes, it is speculation. It is theory related to symptoms I had and you may still have. In reading be warned there are many “I think”s and “I believe”s. It’s all theory; it may be right or it may be wrong. Still, I feel compelled to share.

The Cause

I believe the recent growing numbers of those suffering from Morgellons symptoms is due to two ingredients- toluene and mercury.

Toluene is found in glues, methamphetamines and cocaine. I believe the toluene found in dental adhesives, and connected to symptoms by Dr. Omar Amin, correlate with a surge of sufferers of these symptoms (and possibly via prenatal passage the exponentially growing number of children with autism, ADD and ADHD).

I think toulene interacts with mercury to allow passage of this toxin into the nervous system. Toluene may dissipate after carrying mercury into the system leaving deposits of mercury. The primary source of mercury in the mouth (though there are other sources causing mercury increases including some skin creams, coal burning power plants, and historic mining activities) decreases as secondary deposits in the nerves increase.

The associated symptoms of this neurotoxin can be viewed as occurring in stages with new symptoms added as secondary deposits increase. The stages, based partly on my own experience, but also drawing from the experience of many others, might look like: 1) depression and panic attacks (typical symptoms of neurotransmitter blockage), 2) bloating, heart palpitations, and exhaustion, 3) crawling sensations, 4) fibers and skin lesions….and so on.

All of the symptoms noted with Morgellons, except crawling sensations and fibers, have been shown to be associated with mercury poisoning; because of this, I want to share how I think these two symptoms form.

Crawling Sensations

In the earliest onset of the “bugs”, I had faint flea-like zips across my scalp. I believe this was mercury pathways forming within the nerve cell network under my skin.

As the secondary levels of mercury increased, the sensations of crawling began. My crawling always started each night at the rear, right occipital area of my scalp (in journaling, at that time, I referred to the spot on my scalp as the “Mother Ship”); this area correlates with the low spot of my skull when resting (I have a preference for sleeping on my right with my head cocked back). The extreme density of mercury I believe was pooling.

Crawling typically began as the sun was setting and there was a change in temperature. Within weeks, the crawling expanded to my groin and bottom of my feet. Eventually my whole body had the sensations. It was during this time that I was diagnosed with sheet mites and scabies (and found out about something called Morgellons).

I believe as levels of mercury further increased, the crawling became more pronounced and expanded throughout my body. The sensation was especially disturbing when it began in my ear canals and nostrils.

I think the crawling is due to the expansion and contracting of mercury within the network of nerves. I picture it as one spider-shaped cell after another filling and twitching as mercury moves through (causing a kind of “cartoon effect” movement); one sufferer described this observed movement as certain proof of parasitic infestation. I still get a faint twitch occasionally at the base of my feet (but it feels different and I suspect it relates to nerve repairs and not mercurial movement).

If the Morgellons symptoms occur in stages related to increases in mercury, then I arrived at one of the middle stages. I never found fibers projecting from my skin or had any lesions. I’m thankful for this.

Fibers

I think the fibers are the result of repeated cell damage repairs from mercury expansion and contrasting through the nerve system. A weak spot may have mercury break through and this will “scab” over. The fibers eventually poke through as they have nowhere else to go.

Final Words

I know there are many theories out there. Mine is one among many. Take it as such.

Morgellons is an especially cruel condition. In addition to the symptoms, the medical community has not been especially kind. The sensationalism of the media doesn’t help. Isolation and lose of connections to other people is difficult. There is one thing though that especially irritates me; I cannot stand that there are people taking advantage of the vulnerability of many sufferers. For those snake oil sales people making money off this condition, someday you will get yours; it is true what we do to others we do to ourselves.

For those suffering, be careful of the sharks, keep faith that answers will come soon, and always, always keep an “attitude of gratitude” for all you have. You are not alone and things will get better! I wish each and ever one of you a clear path towards health.

Thank you so much Joseph for another excellent and thought provoking article. Your thoughts really make me wonder if the NAC I take is a major player in my feeling better? Here are two other excellent articles written by Joseph that the reader might also want to examine.

Does Wireless, Electric, and Electromagnetic Pollution Play a Role?

weep
WEEP is the Canadian Initiative to Stop “WIRELESS, ELECTRIC, AND ELECTROMAGNETIC POLLUTION”
http://www.weepinitiative.org/index.html

Electromagnetic pollution: A New Public Health Issue.

The question of what constitutes safe levels of electromagnetic emissions continues to generate debate within the scientific community. It is clear, however, that an increased amount of research bears evidence of EM pollution contributing to a heightened level of stress-related conditions and environmentally triggered diseases such as cancer, diabetes and multiple sclerosis.

What is Electrohypersensitivity

Electrohypersensitivity or EHS is a physiological condition. It is characterized by neurological and immunological symptoms that noticeably flare or intensify upon, or following expose to:

  • electric and magnetic fields (EMF)
  • one or more of the types of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) found in the modern environment

Having Electromagnetic Field Sensitivity means experiencing recurring stress or illness when near active EMF sources or emitters of EMR. Symptoms normally diminish with distance from these sources but typically require considerable time to vanish after exposure. The World Health Organization identifies this collection of symptoms and triggers as Electrohypersensitivity, often referred to as Electrosensitivity. It is not recognized as a medical diagnosis. However, it is accepted as a functional impairment in Sweden and the Canadian Human Rights Commission recognizes it as an environmental sensitivity and classifies it as a disability.

Common Symptoms

  • Concentration problems
  • Memory lapses
  • Aches or pressure in head, throat and chest
  • Unsteady balance, dizziness
  • Altered heart rate
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Excessive fatigue
  • Numbness or pain in affected areas
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Eye irritation
  • Red skin blotches, eczema

What is Electrohypersensitivity or EHS?

In addition to numerous other health problems, electromagnetic pollution has been associated with an increase in the number of individuals suffering from a condition known as electrohypersensitivity (EHS). EHS is defined by the World Health Organization as: “…a phenomenon where individuals experience adverse health effects while in the vicinity of devices emanating electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic fields.”

In Sweden, it is classified as a disability and health care facilities with low levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation are available. The Canadian Human Rights Commission report also acknowledges environmental sensitivity attributed to electromagnetic exposure. (28) Researchers estimate that approximately 3% of the population has severe symptoms of EHS, and another 35% of the population has moderate symptoms such as an impaired immune system and chronic illness (Havas, 2007).

SYMPTOMS OF EHS

The biological effects from exposure to EMF/EMR include both adverse health effects and loss of homeostasis and well-being. Symptoms vary from patient to patient depending on their physical biology and exposure intensity and duration. Symptoms quickly improve when away from EMF/EMR sources, particularly when the patient moves away from computers, fluorescent lighting, transformers, wireless antenna, cell and cordless phones, appliances and out of proximity to cell phone towers, electrical substations and power lines. All these are potential sources of higher than normal EMF/EMR exposure. Symptoms recur on returning to the irradiated environment. Over time, sensitivity is increased to smaller and smaller EMF/EMR exposures. (Sage, 2001)

I realize these things are probably actually very hard to prove or actually link to EMF exposure …

LIVING WITH ELECTROHYPERSENSITIVITY

A Survival Guide, by: Susan Parsons

Human beings are bioelectrical systems. Our hearts and brains are regulated by internal bioelectrical signals. Environmental exposures to artificial EMFs can interact with fundamental biological processes in the human body.
(Sage, 2007)

We are living in an increasingly complex electrical environment and are inundated daily with electromagnetic frequencies ranging from less than 20 Hz (electric trains) to greater than 1 billion Hz (wireless telecommunication). Most of these frequencies are man-made and were not present until the invention and subsequent commercialization of electricity (early 1900s), radio (1920s), radar (1940s), television (1950s), computers (1970s), and cell phones (1980s). Whether, and at what intensities, these frequencies have biological effects has been a subject of scientific debate for decades. (Havas & Stetzer, 2004)

Early recognition, avoidance of symptom-triggering agents, environmental control, treatments that may reduce residual toxins and recovery of normal biological processes are key to regaining health for people with sensitivities. Without mitigation of the incitant, people with environmental sensitivities may become severely debilitated.
(Sears, 2007)

In today’s world, everyone is exposed to two types of EMFs:
1.    Extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF) from electrical and electronic appliances and power lines
2.    Radiofrequency radiation (RF) from wireless devices such as cell phones and cordless phones, cellular
antennas and towers, and broadcast transmission towers. (Sage, 2007)

See the rest of this page HERE … (very, very interesting !!)

Summary

The page above even talks about mercury, our mercury fillings, and there interaction with EMF. Amazingly, the protocol they recommend is very similar to a protocol for Morgellons. In fact, the reason I found this site was that my Google search turned up a post where somebody was making a pretty remarkable comparison between Morgellons and WEEP.

One wonders if the tiny micro-thin fibers than once formed a lattice under my skin were picking up all this EMF. It certainly would explain all of the crawling sensations we feel around computers, carpet (static electricity) and so on. I realize that “Morgellons like symptoms” pre-date all this massive EMF pollution that we have today, but it could help explain the massive increase in numbers of those suffering from it. Just another interesting line of questioning.

Perhaps what this really reveals is just another avenue into the destruction of our Terrain. Electronic EMF Pollution, Industrial Pollution, GMO Pharming, Pesticides, Acidic Western Diet, Lack of Minerals and Vitamins, Overuse of Pharmaceuticals and so on gathering together and creating the perfect storm resulting in the destruction of the human body.

And finally, and interesting quote regarding the skin from the WEEP site …

The skin is the largest most important eliminative organ in the body and is responsible for one quarter of the body’s detoxification each day

The skin eliminates over one pound of waste acids each day in the average adult, most of it through the sweat glands

That the skin is known also as our third kidney

That the skin receives one third of all the blood circulated in the body

That the skin is the last to receive nutrients in the body, yet the first to show signs of imbalance or deficiency

Dangerous Mercury Contamination of Human Body Increasing, Study Finds

I figure while we’re on the topic of Mercury …

(NaturalNews.com)
It’s no secret mercury is a dangerous toxin that accumulates in the human body and can produce disastrous health problems involving multiple organ systems. It’s known to be a risk to unborn babies, too. Unfortunately, as NaturalNews has reported, mercury contamination of our environment and food sources is rampant. For example, scientists have found that fish(http://www.naturalnews.com/025935_m…) and high fructose corn syrup (http://www.naturalnews.com/026528_m…) are often loaded with the dangerous heavy metal. Now comes this worrisome news: deposits of mercury in the bodies of Americans are increasing at an alarming rate and the health repercussions could be staggering.

Mercury especially targets the liver, the immune system and the pituitary gland. Numerous studies have associated chronic mercury exposure with elevated risks for autism, mental impairment and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. Previous research by U.S. Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) researchers estimated that chronic mercury exposure caused between 300,000 and 600,000 American children to be born with elevated risks of neurodevelopmental disorders between 1999 and 2000.

A new University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) study of government data on more than 6,000 women in the US found not only that mercury loads in bodies are increasing but it also identified significant associations between chronic mercury exposure and immune and endocrine system functions. The research specifically revealed that levels of the pituitary hormone, lutropin (also called luteinizing hormone) are significantly associated with chronic mercury exposure. This could explain a mechanism for how mercury causes or contributes to degenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases.

Considering “Morgellons disease, illuminating an undefined illness”

By: Joseph Keleher

Suggestions

After reviewing the article “Morgellons disease, illuminating an undefined illness: a case series”, two thoughts come to mind:

  1. Those wanting to better understand this condition (both sufferers and medical professionals) could benefit from collaboration, and
  2. A team of parasitologists as well as toxicologists could add interpretive insight by reviewing MD data.

Sharing

There is nothing easy about this condition. It is mysterious, terrifying and destroys the quality of one’s life. No matter the parameters which one looks at Morgellons, as a recent phenomena or as something that has been around for centuries, it has baffled the medical profession. The condition leaves the patient with few answers and the medical professionals, I suspect, frustrated.

I know firsthand that sharing anything related to this condition often leaves you as a target or, worse, feeling unheard. The mix of sufferers and medical researchers makes for a complicated audience. Often when posting my thoughts online, I clarify with, “I’m not a medical professional”; it makes sense that for the sufferer the professional voice has more validity than the nonprofessional. Still, when answers are few, any voice is better than none.

Sometimes misguided anger comes out. I once posted some critical comments towards several medical researchers (and afterwards regretted it). “We all have five fingers” was once a Navajo elder’s way of telling me- we’re all human. We’re all capable of great good but also make mistakes.

I wonder how we could better share between sufferers and medical professionals. I have seen some attempts at online surveys…maybe this could be expanded. Another possibility is a question/answer session with noted professionals working on the Morgellons condition (maybe a monthly or weekly response from various professionals). The voices of the sufferers as well as professionals need to be heard in expansion of collaborative, productive communication.

Given all the challenges, it is still absolutely essential that communication be open and healthy itself. Being able to have a voice and listen to others benefits everyone. Mr. Common Sense recently expressed gratitude for Mary Leitao’s efforts and I second that; she is the reason so many have been able to connect.

Further professional review

Among the sufferers, there appears to be three major schools of thought on the cause of this condition. Many believe it is parasitic, some believe it is a mix of parasitic and toxins, and some believe (as I do) it is the result of toxins.

While the research team that implemented and published this important study have impressive medical backgrounds, I feel more light could be shed on data interpretation with a formal review by a team of parasitologists as well as a team of toxicologist (in fact I think this should happen for any studies with complex MD data sets). While I’m not a medical professional (please remember that), I do think that some of the data patterning such as all having high resting pulse, high miscarriage rate, and some with chronic inflammatory diseases could be interpreted as relating to mercury.

The study was designed to define Morgellons and differentiate between Morgellons and DOP. I think it has better defined Morgellons. The distinction between MD and DOP remains muddy. If it is found that MD is parasitic in nature then the symptoms are parasitic symptoms. If it is found to be the result of toxins, I propose the term Pseudo Parasitic Symptoms (PPS).

In short

The study presented in “Morgellons disease, illuminating an undefined illness: a case series may provide further insight with additional review of data, both published and unpublished, by parasitologist and toxicologist. While I am not a medical professional (just had to say it one last time), I hope the medical community will be open to suggestions from those who have or had these symptoms.

This was submitted by Joseph Keleher who, as far as I am concerned, wrote the quintessential "History of Morgellons Disease" which you can find by clicking on the following link, Morgellons/ Mercury Article. I agree completely with Joe on this post regarding collaboration only he says it with more elegance than could I. As an aside comment Joe stated to me that Heart Palpitations (I just had a very scary bout with them) can be a sign of Mercury poisoning. I Googled it, and indeed, it sure is. Thank you Joe, I’m sure folks will look forward to more of your writing. If the link to “Morgellons disease, illuminating an undefined illness: a case series” doesn’t come up right away, wait 4 or 5 seconds and it will.
